Book your visit to the Cova Tallada

The Cova Tallada is located in a natural site of public ownership.

The visit is free of charge but on certain dates access is regulated.

There are also active tourism companies that organize guided kayak routes to the Cova Tallada.

Dates of regulated access

Advance Reservation is required on the following dates in the year 2025:

• From April 12 to May 5, 2025 (both included)
• From June 15 to October 15, 2025 (both included)
• Outside these dates, no permit is required.

Standards and regulations

By ORDER 7/2020, of March 9, 2020, of the Regional Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development, Climate Emergency and Ecological Transition establishing the conditions for access to the Cova Tallada, Parc Natural del Montgó.

By the RESOLUTION of April 27, 2023, of the General Director of Natural Environment and Environmental Assessment, which updates the regulated access to the Cova Tallada, Montgó Natural Park, established by Order 7/2020, of March 9, of the Regional Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development, Climate Emergency and Ecological Transition, which establishes the conditions of access to the Cova Tallada, Montgó Natural Park.

The maximum period of stay in the Cave will be 1 hour and 30 minutes and will begin at the time indicated on the authorization.

Reservations can only be made 10 days in advance (example: a person wants to apply for August 21, that day will be available from August 11 and not before).

The applicant will have to carry with him/her the authorization in printed or electronic format and the ID card.

The civil responsibility for the visit and safety in any area of the Montgó Natural Park, including the Cova Tallada, will always be the responsibility of the visitor.

The visit is not recommended for people not used to hiking in the mountains.

Always wear appropriate footwear and carry plenty of water.

How to make a reservation?

Through the form provided by the Generalitat Valenciana for this purpose.

This form is only operative on regulated access dates.

Guide to Make the Online Reservation for the Visit to the Cova Tallada

The reservation for the visit to the Cova Tallada is made online in the Reservation Manager of the Generalitat Valenciana.

Each reservation is valid for a maximum of 5 people.

Steps to make a reservation

1. Section A: It has three dropdowns:

   • Scope: Choose the option “Parcs naturals de la Comunitat Valenciana”.
   • Subarea: Select “Parc Natural del Montgó”.
   • Service: Choose the only available option, “Cova Tallada”.

2. Enter your personal data in section B and the security control number in section C. Click “Validate”.

3. Once validated, enter the number of entries in the Criteria section, which can be up to 5 people.

4. In the Selection Range section, the default is “date from” and “date to”. It is recommended to select the same day in both fields for the visit. Click twice on “Select appointment”.

5. Select the time of the visit in the Available Appointments section and click on “Select Appointment”.

6. Once the reservation is confirmed, clicking on “Print” will download a PDF with the confirmation. This file can be carried on your cell phone or printed on paper to show to law enforcement officers or park staff upon request.
