The path of the Cova Tallada is being prepared by the brigade of the Montgó Natural Park.
The work brigade of the Montgó Natural Park has intensified during spring 2025 its maintenance work on the path that leads to the emblematic Cova Tallada, one of the most visited places on the coast of Alicante.
Although this trail is checked weekly to ensure its safety and conservation, recently a series of additional works have been carried out to adapt it to the arrival of the summer season and the expected increase in the number of visitors.
Among the most important actions was the installation of a new steel mesh to reinforce the existing protection in the upper hole of the cave, a key preventive measure for the safety of users. Also, the rope indicating the entrance to the cave, which had been stolen, has been replaced, making it difficult for visitors to locate the entrance.
In addition, a partial cleaning of the interior of the Cova Tallada, which had remains of reeds and debris washed away by the rainstorm associated with the episode of DANA that affected the Valencian Community last November, has been carried out.
The Natural Park reminds us that the route to the Cova Tallada is an itinerary not without complication and recommends that people who want to do it to be properly informed of the difficulty of it, follow the recommendations for your visit and proceed to make a reservation in advance if you go on dates of regulated access.
